ESTABLISHED IN 2018
As an executive body, our goal is to organize all of the minor hockey officials in Hamilton under one fellowship in order to ensure equal treatment and pay from leagues and associations and to facilitate and support the growth of officiating in Hamilton. |
| OUR GOAL:
To provide support and training for all minor hockey referees and off-ice officials to ensure that all games are being officiated in a fair, safe and professional manner. |
CURRENT EXECUTIVE:
STEVE JENNINGS President
Steve started reffing at 11yrs old and is currently a Certified Level 3 official. Before becoming the president of our organization, Steve held various local leadership positions as an assignor, supervisor and Referee-in-chief. His career highlights include officiating the only minor hockey game ever played outdoors at Ivor Wynne Stadium. He has also officiated games involving teams from Finland, Sweden, China, and Russia.
KATTIE RANSOM-JABORA Secretary
Katie is a Certified Level 3 official who started reffing in 2004. She has worked games in both the Alliance and OWHA where she has skated Girls Provincial Playdowns. Her career highlight is getting to officiate games with the person who taught her to skate – Alliance Supervisor Mike Springstead. |
GERRY RUSH Vice-President
Gerry started reffing in 1983 – when rinks still had chain link cage instead of glass - and is currently a Certified Level 2 official. He has been involved as an executive member for both the Burlington Minor Hockey and Lawfield Minor Hockey associations as well as an assignor and RIC. He even had the pleasure of working a charity game with former NHL Official Don Koharski!
GORD ZAROSKI Director of Development
An official since 1995, Gord is a Certified Level 4 official and high school French Immersion teacher with the HWDSB. He considers himself fortunate to have officiated in several provincial and national tournaments (including the 2004 National Midget AAA Championship) and looks forward to helping younger officials improve their game management skills. |
NATHAN CHRISTENSEN Treasurer
Nathan has been an official for 15 yrs and is a Certified Level 2. Off the ice, he is in a managerial role with Fortinos. Nathan has officiated all levels up to and including Midget AA REP and says that his favourite part of officiating is hanging out with the crew at the rink.
DAVID JASKULA Director of Rules and Discipline
Dave started reffing in 2006 and is a Certified Level 4 official. He has worked games in the Alliance, OHA, and OHL. He is also an Alliance Supervisor and Mentor. Dave's career highlight was being part of the Officiating Program of Excellence and working the World U17 Hockey Challenge in Sydney, NS in 2014. |
Past Association Meeting Minutes | WE'RE HERE FOR YOU! Being an official is like having an extended family - you will always have your fellow officials' support when you need it. We are also a team. And as teammates, we look out for one another and strive to help each other out both on and off the ice. |
